Abstract

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are wireless networks without any fixed infrastructure. These networks are highly in use in today’s hi-tech environment due to its self organizing and dynamic reconfiguring capability. MANET shows potential of better communication in adverse conditions of emergency scenarios. But due to mobility of nodes it may suffer from network partitioning. We have studied and analysed the various methods for resolving network partitioning problem out of which we found the AMMNET (Autonomous Mobile Mesh Network) to be a promising solution to give better connectivity between mobile nodes in adverse conditions as well.
