Abstract The truth of our modern times is that you probably wont find a student who does not use innovative gadgets today. It is also true that students use different mobile applications not only for entertainment, but for studying as well. Every student probably knows plenty of applications that fit his or her needs most, but there are still some mobile helpers no student should live without. The growing impact over smart phone increases the development of mobile application for educational Guidance and Counseling. The application is used for Guidance and Counselling services that run on mobile devices. The application is designed specifically for college and university student. Counseling is the core feature which helps a student identify the career path he can follow to achieve his ambition in life. Existing system has realizes on web based online seating availability checking system and it is the manual process. The college counseling Recommendation System has student who have been check the college availability for his cutoff marks and location.

1. .INTRODUCTION

   Android is an operating system for Smartphones,tablets and laptops from the Google-sponsored Open Handset Alliance. Android is the leading mobile platform worldwide. Android is a Linux OS, and Android apps are programmed in Java. An Android app is a software application running on the Android platform. Because the Android platform is built for mobile devices, a typical Android app is designed for a Smartphone or a tablet PC running on the Android OS. Initially developed by Android that is Google backed financially and later bought in 2005.Android was

   unveiled in 2007, with the founding of the Open Handset Alliance; a package of hardware, software and telecommunication companies devoted to advancing open standards for mobile devices.

   Android is open source and this open source code and permissive licensing allows the software to be freely modified and distributed by device manufacturers and enthusiast developers (Google releases the code under the Apache License) [1].And Android has a large community of developers for writing applications (apps) and these extend the functionality of devices, written primarily in customized version of the Java Programming language. There were approximately 700,000 apps available for Android, and the number of applications downloaded from Google Play –

   Androids primary store, was 25 billion in October 2012. A developer survey found that Android is the most popular platform for developers, used by 71% of the mobile developer population in AprilMay 2013.These factors have contributed making Android, platform, and the software of choice for technology companies. Hence, despite being primarily designed for phones and tablets, Android has additional applications with televisions, games, digital cameras and other electronics. The open nature of Android has further encouraged a large community of developers and enthusiasts to use the open-source code as a foundation for community-driven projects, and this add new features for advanced users or to bring Android devices officially released running on other operating systems.

   Android's share of the global smart phone market, led by Samsung products, was 64% in March 2013. There were 11,868 different models of Android device, crores of screen sizes and eight OS versions simultaneously in March 2013 for use. The Android's success has made it a target as part of the so-called "smart phone wars" between technology companies. By May 2013, 48 billion apps have been installed from the Google Play store, and at September 3, 2013, there have been 1 billion Android devices activated. Since when Smart Phone was commercialized and distributed in 2009, which may commonly used the mobile App and also, under which all Internet services are expected to be modified and provided to App when the computing market moves from PC to Smart phone. Anyhow each request on developing and distributing mobile App occurs additionally. And students being interested with such applications and smart phones [2]. Android provide dozens of programs and apps for college students that can be very informative and useful if you want to keep up with the times and boost your studying process. The proposed system was implemented on the smart phones. It helps all to find out various college options from their phone and the candidate also helps to shortlist the best college for them. Cutoff ,cast

   ,district is given as a input for finding seat availability for the college.

2. RELATED WORKS

   To start with we use a set of tools that are included in the Android SDK. Once we have downloaded and installed the SDK, we can access these tools right from our Eclipse IDE, through the ADT plug-in, or from the command line. Developing with Eclipse is the preferred method because it

   can directly invoke the tools that we need while developing applications. During setup we install and set up our development environment. We also create Android Virtual Devices (AVDs) and connect hardware devices, on which we can install our applications[7]. MYSQL is used as a database at the web server and PHP is used to fetch data from the database. Our application will communicate with the PHP page with necessary parameters and PHP will contact MYSQL database and will fetch the result and return the results to us[8].In a counseling database the college name, location, seat availability for a particular cast are stored. Whereas the students must give their a cutoff mark, location, caste which will be retrieved from database. Mining information and knowledge from large databases has been recognized by many searchers as a key research topic in database systems[3].Counselling Recommendation system helping learners to planning the career development. This service also helps problems faced by learners[4]. The application is designed specifically for Guidance and Counselling services that run on mobile devices. The administrator only has been given permission to access the database information and make changes to the information. The administrator, student are given an own user name and password for their access to the application[5]. If the seat which he or she want to take has been filled by the other students, it leads to conflict to them. To avoid such situation we recommend online college counselling recommendation system upto date seat availability for their caste. The counseling database should be secure from unauthorized access[6].

3. COLLEGE COUNSELLING RECOMMENDATION SYSTEM

   In order to improve the services related to counselling process, many online counselling systems came into existence which supports the students in getting required help about the educational policies of universities and colleges. Counselling is the process that includes different types of activities such as guiding students towards colleges and universities, supporting them to register with their courses, providing full guidance in getting the information related to their college registration process.

   Online counselling system even gives great support to universities and colleges through which they can totally reduce the paper usage for counselling and guiding the students towards their university courses. Bascally this software includes three different modules in which universities can manage their college records, students records as well as counselling sections. The college counseling Recommendation System has student who have been check the college availability for his cutoff marks. The cutoff marks required for the colleges and their departments can be researched through this resource. You can make a conclusion to your search for best college for your cutoff mark by Cutoff Marks Tool. The college results are shown based on the cutoff marks and their cast allocation for seating availability for his cutoff marks.

   User who can be check the overall college informations for choosing their colleges and it will be helpful for choosing their future college. User can view the

4. BLOCK DIAGRAM AND ITS MODULE Counseling Database maintain the college

information and seat availability. User should give the

cutoff, caste, location for list out the college which is suitable for their given information. Query analyzer will analyze the query and list out the college. User can select college from the list and view the details of the colleges. If the student select one seat from the college that will be updated to the counseling database. Updation of seat availability are done by admin to the counseling database is shown in Figure 1. Query analyzer will be respond for the particular query.

2. USER LOGIN AND REGISTRATION

   User can login to their account by using registration module. In the registration module user give the input as their personal details and the curriculum details are shown in figure 2.

   The user details are stored in a database.the user should give username and password which is validated from the database are shown in Figure 3.

   After login to their account user can choose either counseling or College Information gathering.After Choosing the option user query analyzer will respond for the particular user options are shown in Figure 4.

3. COLLEGE AVAILABILITY CHECKING

   The College Availability checking will be working by using that user has input the cutoff mark details are shown in Figure 5.After giving cutoff mark details the it will be fetched from the user analysis. Query analyzer has analyze which college is suitable for his academic details. The Analyzer will send response for that. User can view and book the college for counseling than the seat has allocated for the particular student are shown in Figure 6.

4. COUNSELING MANAGEMENT

   In the Module of Counseling management student can choose their colleges for available cutoff marks. Also if the user has choose one college than it will be reduced and also it was modified on the counseling database. The counseling management has do the following tasks. Query Analyzing, Managing and updating counseling database are shown in Figure 7.

5. COLLEGE SEARCH ENGINE

   The College Search engine was help for the student for collecting information's about the particular college.user have get the information's about the college are shown in Figure 8.

   If the user selects any college then the pdf about the college will be displayed are shown in Figure 9.

6. UPDATION

Admin has own login page are shown in Figure10. will update the councelling database after each seat allocation. If the user has choose one college then it will be reduced and also it was modified on the counseling database.

When Admin will gives information such as cutoff,caste,location and college which is taken by the student shown in figure 11.

After booking the seat for the particular college that will be reduced from the available seats are shown in Figure 12.

CONCLUSION AND FUTURE WORK

In this project we have develop the application for real-time android based System for counseling management system. That will be helpful for all student and parents. Student can get the seating availability and college information gathering using smart phones. In this proposed system, it is a two way beneficiary process to universities as well as students. Universities can manage their student database and support students starting from course selection up to certification. This proposed system is having many added advantages that it is a cost effective process which consumes less time and does not include any human errors because every activity will be performed through online. It is automatic process based on web services. It is more efficient and counselling scheme can reach for all students.

As for the future works, instead of entering the cutoff marks we can enter the total marks the system will calculate the cutoff mark automatically from your total marks.
